Sacked Abia Chief Press Secretary, Adindu diverted Abia State Media Budgeted Funds for personal use

Information emanating from the Abia State government House indicate that the sacked Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu, Godwin Adindu, got the boot because he continued to convert most of the funds released for media operations to personal use.
According to a personal friend of the governor who pleaded anonymity, Adindu had fleeced Ikpeazu of more than N120 million which he claimed to have needed to do ‘PR’ for newspaper editors in Lagos. He quoted Gov. Ikpeazu lamenting over the huge amount Adindu severally collected from him, without any tangible result as the governor continues to attract negative reports despite his modest performance in his one year anniversary.

The source also added that Ikpeazu also got reports about how the ex CPS’ running battle with majority of the 20 media aides comprising the journalists, photographers and camera men , left the media team heavily divided and working at cross purposes.
“Reports of how he was seizing funds belong to some media aides are now being reported to the governor who did not know the extent of rot and damage Adindu caused him. Adindu was ineffective he had no relation with journalists who retaliated by blacklist the governor. Every week, he was either tavelling to or returning from Lagos, claiming that he went to see editors, but nobody saw thw results.”
Abia Facts newspaper gathered that Adindu cornered funds approved for media operations to invest in real estate. He bought a duplex in Lekki, Lagos and a bungalow at Ukaegbu road, Aba., amidst several plots of lands he bought at his his Mgboko Amairi community.
A journalist based in Umuahia described Adindu as the worst CPS in the history of the state. According To him, Adindu’s greed and arrogance could not allow do the work he was hired for. “ Godwin Adindu is the worst CPS in the history of the state. He has no good relationship with majority of the journalists in the state. Members of the tem team did not fare better as Adindu treated them like nursery school pupils. He always shortchanged journalists.

So, he do you think such a greedy man will get the support of journalists. Journalists in Aba had the worst from him because since October last year, he seized the little ‘PR’ gives monthly. It is good he was sacked, but it came too late.”
