Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Friday,
said that his trial by the Economic and Financial Crime (EFCC) was politically
motivated and a punishment for his harsh criticism of the present
administration.
Fani-Kayode, who served as the spokesperson of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) presidential campaign, stated this in a statement
wherein he revealed that his trial for misappropriation of funds will not break
him. He reiterated his innocence, noting that he is ready to defend himself in
a law court. The statement reads:
“I give thanks to God that I am free after 67 days in
detention. I thank my wife, lawyers, children and friends for all their
support. This was the worst experience of my life but God was with me all the
way.
