Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, has sworn in two new members of the Governing Board of the National Communications Authority (NCA), reinforcing the regulator’s leadership as it continues to oversee the country’s communications and digital technology sector.

The newly appointed board members are Prof. Agyapomaa Gyeke-Dako, an Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Ghana Business School, and Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, Chairman of the Hajj Board and former Member of Parliament for the Yagaba-Kubori Constituency.

The appointments were made to fill vacancies created by the passing of two former board members. According to the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, the additions enhance the board’s expertise and capacity to provide strategic oversight for Ghana’s evolving communications and digital technology landscape.

The ministry said the strengthened Governing Board will continue to guide the National Communications Authority in promoting effective regulation, supporting digital transformation initiatives and advancing the development of Ghana’s telecommunications and digital economy sectors.
