We won't accept Saraki back - PDP

Kwara state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that the party would not accept the embattled Senate president, Bukola Saraki back into its fold when the All Progressives Congress (APC) “strips him naked.”

Akogu Iyiola, the state party chairman, stated this while addressing selected party leaders from the 16 local government areas on Monday, April 18

“APC is in disarray and Saraki is about to be made politically naked. He is looking for a shelter in case the broom sweeps him away. Is this the time to allow him to take refuge under the umbrella? The mistake of 2003 must not be allowed to repeat itself in 2016,” he said.

Recall that Saraki had defected to the ruling party from the PDP shortly before the general elections.

As the Saraki’s trial resumed on Monday, April 18, Michael Wetkas, an operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission claimed that Saraki  bought a property for N522million, which he failed to declare at the Code of Conduct Bureau.

Meanwhile, the chief Ighoyota Amori, a member of the the PDP has accused some cabals in the ruling APC of witch-hunting Bukola Saraki. He said Saraki’s crime was becoming Senate president against the expectation and plan of a cabal in the APC
