Jose Mourinho has resumed work as Manchester United boss with his first week at Carrington expected to trash out transfer deals, set training drills and conduct his first press conference.
The manager sent a brief message to Manchester United fans via his Instagram page; “I am here/UNITED we can.
The Portuguese arrived at Manchester Piccadilly on Sunday night and resumed work this earlier today. In the days ahead, Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s transfer from Borussia Dortmund should be completed.
Mourinho has been on holiday in Portugal and the Maldives but returned to the UK last week, where to witness his son sign a two-year scholarship with Championship club Fulham.
United fly out to China on July 19 before taking on Borussia Dortmund in Shanghai on the 22nd and Manchester City in Beijing on the 25th.
Their final overseas friendly is in Gothenburg against Galatasaray on July 30. The Reds then host Everton in Wayne Rooney’s testimonial on August 3 and head down to London for the Community Shield against Leicester on August 7.
United begin their Premier League campaign at Bournemouth, although the date and kick-off time are yet to be confirmed.
