Mourinho Thrives On Enemies He Creates On Purpose – Diego Milito
Former Argentina and Inter Milan striker, Diego Milito has said that new Manchester United coach, Jose Mourinho creates enemies whom he uses to succeed.
According to Milito who played under Mourinho in Inter Milan said the latter is a man who invents enemies such as Pep Guardiola and thrives on the conflict.
Milito told Gazzetta dello Sport: “Sometimes he invents on purpose. Guardiola included. Just go and ask Pep. He knows how to protect his team and always needs an enemy to be able to attack or defend his squad.”
Manchester United manager Mourinho was in charge of Milito at Inter Milan during the 2009-10 season, which ended with the club winning the treble of Champions League, Serie A and Coppa Italia.
Argentinean Milito scored both goals in the 2-0 Champions League final win over Louis van Gaal’s Bayern Munich that season, on his way to 30 goals in 52 matches in all competitions during the campaign.
The 37-year-old, who retired this summer, hailed the new United manager’s motivational power, explaining: “Mourinho is a great leader of groups. We are talking about a coach of the highest level in the world. He makes sure that every player gives 100 percent, has the right word at the right moment and can be punishing when necessary.”
