Arsenal have turned their attention to Yacine Brahimi after missing out on Riyad Mahrez of Leicester City, according to the Sunday Mirror.

The Algeria international was left out of Porto's Champions League squad in midweek and is keen to leave the club, with Liverpool and Chelsea also interested.

Porto are willing to sell Brahimi for £40 million and Arsene Wenger is considering a move after Mahrez signed a new deal wit Premier League champions Leicester City.

In other news, new Arsenal signing, Takuma Asano has failed to secure a work permit to play in England, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.

The 21-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Sanfrecce Hiroshima, will now have to be loaned out before making a renewed application next summer.

Asano is one of only three players Wenger has signed this summer and had been set to compete for a place in the first-team squad after impressing for Japan at the Olympic Games.
