Ibrahim Kpotun Idris has been appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the new acting Inspector General of Police. Idris, an Assistant Inspector General of police, from Niger State, takes over from Solomon Arase, who has attained the compulsory retirement age of 60. Before his appointment, Idris was the AIG in charge of operations at the force headquarters, Abuja.
