The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has
released pictures of R.A. Ojuawo, a serving officer of the Nigerian air force. Ojuawo
is undergoing investigation for his alleged involvement in the controversial
$2.1bn arms purchase scandal.
In a message posted on social media, the anti-graft agency
said the long arm of the law will catch up with anyone involved in crime, no
matter how highly placed.
“Find below, the picture of Air Vice Marshal Ojuawo, a
serving officer of the Nigerian Airforce, who is being prosecuted by the EFCC
at the FCT High Court, Apo Abuja for fraud. He came to court in his full
Airforce regalia. Indeed, with EFCC, nobody is above the law. We shall serve
you details later,” the message read.
Ojuawo was arrested at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International
Airport, Abuja, in February. He was on his way to a meeting of the United
States Africa Command in Germany. The officer was supposed to deliver the air
force keynote address at the event.
